Nine-year homes project nears completion in Nuneaton

Work is drawing to a close at the Royal Park development in Nuneaton after nine years of construction.

A total of 451 homes are being built by Bellway at the scheme off The Long Shoot in the town, including a mix of two, three, four and five-bedroom properties.

Bellway has been working at the site since April 2014 with construction taking place in three phases.

A total of four homes are left for sale and there are eight completions remaining until the development comes to an end.

Bellway is delivering 336 houses for private sale, with a further 114 properties as affordable housing for low-cost rent and shared ownership.

Marie Richards, Sales Director for Bellway West Midlands, said: “Royal Park in Nuneaton is a major project for Bellway, bringing hundreds of homes to the area.

“We have been working here for nine years and while doing so we have seen our new residents settle in and grow into a vibrant community.

“Our planning agreement has also meant that we have made a significant financial contribution to services in the area which will benefit new and established residents.

“The properties have been popular thanks to the variety of house styles which have appealed to a range of buyers. Add to that well-regarded schools and good road links to Coventry and Birmingham, and Royal Park has proved particularly attractive to families and commuters.”

The development has brought in £2.9 million of investment in services for the area as part of Bellway’s planning agreement for Royal Park.

This includes more than £1.4 million for education, with a further £580,000 for science and technology facilities at Higham Lane School.

Play and open spaces are receiving £500,000 of investment and £250,000 is going to road improvements. The agreement also includes contributions to the NHS and money for improvements to footpaths.
