Moores raise over £8,800 for its charity of the year, Yorkshire Cancer Research

Over the course of their 75th birthday year, Yorkshire-based kitchen manufacturer Moores, organised several internal fundraisers and joined the ‘Step out for Yorkshire’ challenge to raise money for Yorkshire Cancer Research. In addition, the company also donated a brand-new kitchen to support the refurbishment of the charity’s headquarters. The original target was to raise £7,500, but the team surpassed this goal and raised an impressive £8,807. Moores will continue to participate in further fundraising initiatives for the charity later in the year, including half marathons, team events, and internal fundraisers.

Mike Barrett, CEO at Moores comments:

“We celebrate our Yorkshire roots in many ways throughout the business and are very proud of our heritage. It’s incredible to have raised this amount of money for an essential charity in the region which directly impacts our community, and I want to personally thank everyone who has contributed to help us exceed our target.”

Yorkshire Cancer Research funds life-changing medical research into early diagnosis and treatments, so that people with cancer can live longer, healthier lives. Juliet Glendinning, Director of Brand and Relationships at the charity comments:

“Yorkshire Cancer Research is hugely grateful for the generous support of Moores Furniture Group over the last 12 months. We would like to thank Mike Barrett, Calista Bendell, Julie Holliday and all the team at Moores for their support, which is enabling us to continue our vital work to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer across Yorkshire.”
