Mackenzie Construction, in partnership with UAV365, is proud to announce the launch of AquaVis 3D, a first-to-market inspection service designed exclusively for live treated water environments.

The partnership brings together Mackenzie Construction’s decades of experience in the water sector and UAV365’s specialist capability in complex underwater inspection resulting in a solution truly tailored to the operational needs of water utilities.

The service combines advanced underwater ROV technology with high-definition 3D scanning to deliver detailed insight into treated water storage tanks without draining or disrupting operations. Mackenzie Construction operates from offices across Scotland and England, with a sixth location opening soon in Stafford to support clients in the Midlands and Wales.

AquaVis 3D is the UK’s first 3D scanning service dedicated solely to treated water tanks. By operating in live environments, it removes the need for costly shutdowns and ensures hygiene compliance throughout. This gives water utilities the insight they need to manage ageing assets, strengthen resilience and plan ahead with confidence.

Key benefits of AquaVis 3D:

  • Exclusive to treated water tanks – designed for treated water environments where hygiene and compliance are critical.
  • Zero downtime – inspections without draining tanks or taking them offline.
  • Enhanced safety – removes the need for confined space entry, reducing risk and improving compliance.
  • Rich data insights – high-resolution 3D models and digital twins for long-term asset care.
  • Nationwide deployment – rapid, flexible support for critical infrastructure.

Mark Brown, Structural Refurbishment General Manager at Mackenzie Construction, commented:

“AquaVis 3D is a game-changer for the water sector. For the first time, utilities can carry out advanced 3D inspections on live treated water tanks without compromising hygiene or service continuity. This innovation improves safety, reduces operational downtime, and sets a new benchmark for proactive asset management.”

Kieran Smith, Operations Director at UAV365, added:

“Our technology is engineered to perform in challenging live treated water environments. AquaVis 3D captures precise, high-resolution data that enables utilities to move beyond reactive maintenance and make confident, evidence-based decisions for long-term infrastructure care.”
