Construction Products Group (CPG) UK puts £9,000 budgeted for Christmas to a pioneering community project
A £9,000 cash pot earmarked by Construction Products Group (CPG) UK for Christmas celebrations has been given to a community project to support the vulnerable and disadvantaged over the festive period.
CPG UK has donated its Christmas fund to The Brick – a charity which works with people facing crisis across Wigan, where the company has its headquarters.
The Brick will use the cash to help ensure no-one in the borough is left to struggle over the festive period.
Keely Dalfen, Commercial and Finance Director at The Brick said: “The Covid-19 pandemic has hit the most vulnerable and disadvantaged people and communities in Wigan and Leigh the hardest, which has created unprecedented additional demand and pressure on our services.
“We are delighted to be able to step up to the challenge with the help of this generous donation from CPG UK.
“The funds will ensure that we can continue to reach out to everyone who needs us and that no-one is left behind this Christmas.”
CPG UK is renowned for its building products’ brands including illbruck, Flowcrete, Tremco, Vandex, Dryvit and Nudura, as well as Nullifire – which offer fire protection, sealing, bonding, insulation, flooring, waterproofing and roofing solutions.
John Gordon, Managing Director at CPG UK, said: “We’ve pooled together money allocated for customer gifts, entertaining and other Christmas celebrations and instead donated it to The Brick.
“Together, the team at CPG UK decided on a Wigan charity as it is where our main UK manufacturing facility is based, and to also celebrate the fact that our site is undergoing a major redevelopment.
“We’ve been manufacturing on this site since 1985 and we are currently going through a multi-million pound investment to modernise and increase capacity at the facility.
“These investments will not only improve efficiency, but will also create new employment opportunities for local people.
“The Brick does an incredible job and this year, more than ever, they face a challenging task to support the community.
“It’s team of staff and volunteers provide outreach support for people living on the streets and provide a network of emergency accommodation and support packages to help people on their journey into a permanent home and sustainable future.
“The team at CPG UK is delighted to see this money allocated to such a great cause.”
