Watkin Jones launches partnership with mental health charity Mind

The new three-year partnership will see colleagues across the business raise money for Mind
Watkin Jones, the UK’s leading developer and manager of residential for rent, is pleased to announce the launch of a new three-year partnership with Mind, the leading mental health charity in England and Wales. This partnership reflects Watkin Jones’ commitment to charitable giving and ensuring its people can make a positive difference to society.
As part of the new partnership, Watkin Jones’s colleagues will support and raise money for Mind through a range of fundraising and awareness activities throughout the next three years. Teams from across the business will host events to help raise money for the charity and shine a light on the importance of engaging with topics around mental health. There will also be opportunities for colleagues to volunteer for the new charity partner, take part in challenges, and support Mind’s work in other meaningful ways.
The money raised by Watkin Jones over the next three years will help Mind to answer calls to their helplines, oversee peer support community Side by Side, and campaign for change on a range of issues that affect people with mental health problems. This includes anti-stigma, and improving health services, legislation, legal rights and employment.
Alex Pease, Chief Executive of Watkin Jones, stated:
“We are proud to be partnering with Mind, a charity that is doing vital work to support people’s mental health in England and Wales. Mental health challenges affect one in four people, yet many still face stigma or struggle to access the support they need. That’s why the work of charities like Mind is so vital as it helps make sure no one has to face a mental health problem alone.
“At Watkin Jones, we’re passionate about creating places where people can thrive – and that includes supporting wellbeing in the communities we serve and among our own colleagues. Mental health affects us all, and we’re looking forward to raising awareness, funding, and making a real difference together over the next three years.”
Andrew Berrie, Head of Corporate Partnerships at Mind, said:
“We’d like to say a big thank you to Watkin Jones for their dedication to mental health and choosing to support Mind over the next three years. At a time when the nation’s mental health is at crisis point, the money raised by Watkin Jones will help us to be there for even more people who need us. It will enable us to keep our helplines open and to power our online community, Side by Side.
It will strengthen our network of local Minds, rooted in communities across England and Wales, offering frontline support when and where it’s needed. And it will fuel our campaigning work, as we push for change and challenge the stigma that still surrounds mental health. We’re really looking forward to working together to ensure that no mind is left behind.”
