Polypipe Building Services makes UKCW debut with focus on prefabrication, skills and sustainability

Polypipe Building Services will make its debut at UK Construction Week this year, using the event to highlight how prefabricated drainage and water supply systems can help the industry tackle the shortage of skilled labour.
As well as a stand presence this year, Polypipe will also be presenting a CPD where visitors can discover the role of prefabrication in sustainable design.
At stand H24, the company will showcase its Advantage prefabrication service, together with its Terrain drainage and MecFlow water supply systems.
Moving complex assembly into a controlled factory setting reduces the number of skilled staff needed on site, speeds up installation and lowers project risk. For contractors managing resource pressures, prefabrication offers practical benefits for productivity, while also supporting sustainability goals through less waste and fewer vehicle movements.
Tom Murray, Sales and Marketing Director at Polypipe Building Services, said: “Skills shortages are affecting every part of the construction industry. Prefabrication is one of the most effective ways of keeping projects on track, and our aim at UKCW is to show how solutions like Advantage can make a difference right now.
“By combining offsite innovation with the proven performance of systems like Terrain and MecFlow, we’re helping customers manage today’s pressures without compromising on quality.”
As part of the show’s programme, Gavin Robinson, National Business Development Manager at Polypipe Building Services, will deliver the CIBSE-approved CPD ‘Sustainable Design Methodology’ on Wednesday, 1st October at 12:30 pm in the Influence Zone. The session explores how prefabricated drainage and water supply systems can support sustainable design from the earliest stages of a project, while delivering significant savings in labour, cost and time.
Robinson said: “Prefabrication doesn’t just benefit sustainability, it improves productivity and helps with resourcing challenges. By showing how design decisions translate into onsite impact, we want to equip specifiers, engineers and contractors with practical knowledge that they can put into practice straight away.”
UK Construction Week takes place at the NEC Birmingham from 30th September to 2nd October 2025, with themes this year focusing on skills, modern methods of construction and net zero.
