Miller Knights Takes Building Safety to New Heights with London Forum

The Building Safety Forum returns, this time in London

Multi-Discipline principal contractor, Miller Knight, is set to host its annual Building Safety Forum following the success of its last year’s groundbreaking event in Birmingham.

Bringing together a powerhouse of industry experts from Miller Knight, TFT, BB7, and more, the forum will serve as the springboard for action, and through an interactive panel, throw light on key regulatory shifts and the force of collaboration in navigating the evolving landscape of safety and compliance.

Set to ignite discussions on Thursday 3 April at Ironmonger’s Hall, Shaftesbury Place, Barbican, London, EC2Y 8AA, the event will feature none other than Dame Judith Hackitt DBE as host and keynote speaker.

A defining voice in building safety and regulatory reform, Dame Judith Hackitt continues to be a protagonist in shaping the industry’s approach to compliance and risk management. As former chair of the UK’s Health and Safety Executive, she has long advocated for greater accountability in construction and fire safety standards.

In the wake of the Grenfell Tower tragedy, Dame Judith was commissioned by the UK government to conduct the independent review of Building Regulations and Fire Safety in high-rise buildings. This later led to the inception of her landmark report, ‘Building a Safer Future’, which remains the instrument to restring the sector’s approach to safety, compliance, and duty of care.

Speaking ahead of the event, Dame Judith Hackitt DBE said:

“With building safety reform at the forefront, now is the time to come together and push the boundaries of what’s possible, to ensure we are setting the highest standards in safety testing. The government has reaffirmed its commitment to progress in this space, and my focus remains on identifying those leading by example and inspiring others to follow suit.”

Matthew Flower, managing director at dded:

“Our inaugural forum last year marked the beginning of our commitment to act now and bring others along the journey with us, to drive a new era of safety and compliance. This year, we’re taking it even further — assembling an alliance of experts to spark action, challenge the status quo, and build a hive of innovation. The responsibility belongs to all of us, and together, we will lay the foundation for a safer tomorrow.”
