Leading construction companies and the Department for Education continue their support for The Talent Foundry’s fifth annual bike ride
Morgan Sindall, Reds10 and Willmott Dixon, the UK’s leading construction companies, have announced their continued partnership with the Department for Education (DfE) and social mobility charity, The Talent Foundry as Premier Partners for the charity’s fifth annual bike ride. They will be joined by Flywheel IT Services, specialists in ICT for schools and major construction projects.
This September, a group of passionate cyclists will cycle 270 miles in 3 days, from Copenhagen to Berlin, to raise money to level the playing field and open doors of opportunity for thousands of young people in underserved communities across the UK. This year’s challenge event marks five years since the charity’s trustees and supporters from the DfE organised the first cycle challenge in 2019.
The Talent Foundry is an education charity that works with some of the most underserved schools in the country, helping young people achieve their full potential. The annual bike ride is one of the charity’s most significant fundraising events, with participants cycling for several days to raise money and awareness for the cause.
Dave Wood, Framework Director at Morgan Sindall, says:
“We’re excited to again be supporting The Talent Foundry for the third year and the Morgan Sindall team is busy physically training, mentally preparing, and raising money for the upcoming cycle challenge from Copenhagen to Berlin. The work The Talent Foundry does is vitally important drive social mobility for young people, it’s an objective that aligns to our own responsible business strategy as we all work to drive positive outcomes from our work in the built environment.”
Paul Ruddick, Chairman at Reds10, says:
“Reds10 is dedicated to creating environments where everyone can live, learn, and thrive, perfectly complimenting The Talent Foundry’s mission. We strongly believe that when businesses in our sector commit wholeheartedly and purposefully to making a positive impact, they can drive meaningful change. We are excited to participate once more in the 270-mile cycling event, uniting to overcome challenges and raise vital funds. These efforts will provide support to empower young people to envision ambitious futures and access opportunities for skill development.”
Scott Corey, Strategic Accounts & Services Director at Willmott Dixon, says:
“The work of The Talent Foundry to drive social mobility among young people from disadvantaged backgrounds is fantastic. By nurturing what they are good at, then supporting them with employment opportunities, The Talent Foundry makes a huge difference in helping young people get the best possible start towards reaching their full potential in life.”
Matthew White, Chief Executive and Founder at Flywheel IT, says:
“Many of our ICT school customers are in deprived locations of the UK, and are themselves also The Talent Foundry customers. This cross over is how we have seen first-hand the crucially necessary work that The Talent Foundry do to support and top-up the work of our underfunded schools. Without them, many thousands of children every year would be left without critical life skills necessary to get employment. The work of The Talent Foundry is vitally important today: and this is why we are proud to support them in their work.”
Jenni Anderson, Chief Executive at The Talent Foundry, says:
“The cycle challenge is a highlight of our year and brings together people who are as passionate as us in changing the status quo on social mobility. There is an arduous 270-miles, mixed terrain and weather ahead of us in September. Thank you to everyone involved and our partners, who are putting young people first, and will battle the elements to raise funds to level access to the skills and confidence needed in today’s workplaces.”
We thank our partners for their long-standing support and commitment to levelling the playing field of opportunity for talented young people. For more information about The Talent Foundry and its annual bike ride, please visit www.talentfoundry.org.uk
