Hats off to Essex housebuilder for brain tumour research fundraising

An Essex housebuilder showed its support for Brain Tumour Research by taking part in Wear a Hat Day (28th March) at its head office in Chelmsford.
Staff at Barratt and David Wilson Homes Eastern Counties joined thousands of other businesses and people across the country for the annual fundraising event, donning their best hats to raise money and awareness for the cause.
Wear a Hat Day is the flagship event of Brain Tumour Research, which takes place every March during Brain Tumour Awareness Month.
The national charity is dedicated to funding continuous and sustainable scientific research into brain tumours at centres of excellence across the UK. It also campaigns for greater investment from the Government and larger cancer charities.
The team at Barratt and David Wilson Homes Eastern Counties raised a total of £156, all of which will go towards supporting the charity’s vital work.
Tom Wright, Managing Director at Barratt and David Wilson Homes Eastern Counties, said: “We are proud to have joined thousands of people in taking part in Wear a Hat Day this year in support of Brain Tumour Research.
“Brain tumours have a devastating impact on so many families, so it’s great to see our team come together for such an important cause. We hope our contribution will help drive progress towards better outcomes for those affected.”
Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer, yet historically, just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this disease. Through fundraising and campaigning, Brain Tumour Research is working to change this and help find better treatments and ultimately a cure.
