A future construction star and Frimley local has officially opened the showhome to the town’s newest homes scheme.
Six-year-old Louie Thomas was formally invited by housebuilder Miller Homes to help them open the doors to its showhome as part of the Frimley Square development, off Chobham Road.
The showhome’s design had been inspired by Louie, who has Autism, and features a sensory room which includes specific accessories suited to someone living with Autism including soft-textured cushions, noise-cancelling headphones and an LED drawing pad.
Miller Homes has dedicated the room to Louie and completed the sensory room by adding a school uniform and bag from the youngster’s school, and a door sign marked ‘Louie’s room’ as a thank you to the Frimley resident.
Louie was given the full VIP treatment by the developer when he visited to officially mark the showhome’s opening in November alongside his parents Amy and Dave, who were the first people to see the sensory room attributed to their son.

Amy Thomas, said: “Louie has been eager to return to Frimley Square and see the showhome since it has been built by Miller Homes. He was already excited to receive the invitation to visit the showhome, and so when he saw the sensory room for the first time and the sign on the door with his name on it, he was overcome with the gesture!
“He has been invested in the construction of the new development and what it will mean to the environment in Frimley, ever since the land was marked for new housing. We were very grateful to Miller Homes for inviting Louie to see the site before any homes had been built, and it was brilliant to be able to return now the showhome is open on the site.
“Myself, Dave and Louie would like to thank Miller Homes for their incredibly kind gesture and for making Louie’s vision a reality within the showhome and the sensory room. It’s very thoughtful of them and I know it’ll be something Louie carries with him for a very long time. He already can’t wait to make his next visit!”
Louie’s visit to the development was the first time he had returned to the site since he was invited to explore the scheme during its early construction phase as part of his sixth birthday celebrations in February.
The new showhome at Frimley Square forms part of a 170-home scheme currently being built by Miller Homes’ Southern region, comprising a mix of houses and apartments on the former site of Siemens’ UK headquarters in Frimley.
Natalie MacLeod, sales manager for Miller Homes Southern, said: “Louie is an incredibly passionate young person who has inspired all of us since meeting him earlier this year. So much so, that we felt compelled to mark part of our development thanks to Louie’s influence, and the inclusion of a sensory room within our showhome felt appropriate.
“Providing Louie and his parents with the opportunity to formally open the showhome and see the sensory room complete with Louie’s door sign was a lovely moment, and we’re really pleased to have Louie’s seal of approval on the room itself.
“He is of course welcome back anytime to visit us and the sensory room at Frimley Square. The showhome is now open to the public and we look forward to explaining the influence behind ‘Louie’s room’ to all our visitors to the development.”
The developer plans to welcome its first residents to their new homes by the end of the year. Prices currently start from £350,000 for a two-bedroom apartment.
