Construction contractor BSN Group recognised in The Sunday Times best places to work 2026
Leading Midlands construction firm BSN Group has been recognised by The Sunday Times as one of the best places to work in the UK, in the medium organisation category.
Compiled annually, the accolade highlights organisations demonstrating the highest levels of employee engagement, experience and wellbeing across the UK.
Inclusion in the rankings is determined through a confidential employee survey developed by employee experience platform WorkL, covering six areas of workplace experience: Reward and recognition, instilling pride, information sharing, empowerment, wellbeing and overall job satisfaction.
Commenting on the achievement, BSN Group founder and managing director Darren Perry said: “When I started BSN Construction in 2019, the goal was simple: build a business founded on honesty, hard work, problem-solving, and always delivering for our clients. Seven years later, whilst the business has grown significantly, those values remain at the heart of everything we do.
“This recognition is something I am incredibly proud of because it reflects the culture, we’ve worked hard to create and, most importantly, the people who make BSN what it is today. Their commitment, talent, and belief in the business have been instrumental in our success, and I would like to thank every member of Team BSN for their contribution.”
Based in the Midlands, BSN Group is a specialist main contractor delivering projects across the UK in a range of sectors, including healthcare, education, commercial and the public sector.
The recognition caps a landmark period for the company, which was one of Europe’s fastest growing companies in 2025, going on to achieve a turnover of £45m in 2025/26.
During the same period, it maintained an impressive staff retention rate of 90%, reflecting its strong commitment to employee development and workplace culture.
It also increased its headcount by 80%, with apprentices accounting for 17% of its workforce. One of these is Joanna Rowe, Stoke office manager, who came on board as a mature apprentice, starting in a document controller role.
Joanna said: “Since the day I started at BSN Group, there has been constant discussion about what I need, where I would like to go and how the company can help me develop. I’m only a year into the job, but I already feel like I have a real career here.”
Operating across six divisions, including construction, engineering, and electrical services and a dedicated healthcare arm, BSN Group has built its reputation as an SME with the capacity of a Tier 1 contractor.
