Conquip has announced that it will be a sponsor of the 360 Excavator Challenge at the UK Plant Operator of the Year Finals in partnership with the CITB, taking place at the National Training College in Norfolk on the 21st of September 2024.

This event will see the best plant operators from across the UK go head-to-head on a variety of challenges with one crowned the ultimate winner of the competition and the prize of £20,000.

It brings together plant operators, operator owners and businesses from the civils and groundworks sector and the housebuilding sector.

What to expect from the 360 Excavator Challenge…

Conquip sponsored its first operator skills challenge in 2023 at Plantworx, where it showcased their highly durable Excavator Forks. The challenge tested the operator’s precision, patience and accuracy, tasking them to pick up a basketball off multiple cones and place them into Conquip Autolock Tipping Skips in numerical order.

This year sees the return of this awesome excavator forks challenge at the UK Plant Operator of the Year competition.

Visit the Conquip challenge area on 21st of September to join in, witness others taking the ultimate test and talk to the Conquip team about the range of best-in-class products that they design and manufacture in-house and offer to the industry for hire and sale along with after-sales services.

The UK Plant Operator of the Year – objectives

This year the organisers say the campaign will focus on these three strategic pillars:

1) Apprentices & Training

2) Technology & Performance

3) Sustainability & Carbon Neutrality

The organisers believe that the next generation of Plant Operators and Construction Skills trainees are the machine and business owners, key decision makers and influencers of the future.

A future that over the next 10 years, will see more technological advancement than in any other decade since the introduction of mechanical construction equipment.

The CITB, National Construction College, will enable exclusive access to their world class training facility where the training and preparation of apprentices to enter the world of construction begins.

The campaign will also give a truly unique opportunity, to CITB apprentices, as it is sponsored by many leading UK contractors and hirers
