Central Belt Building Surveyors Promotions to Associate

Graham + Sibbald, Chartered Surveyors and Property Consultants are delighted to announce the promotion of Alistair Nicol (Edinburgh) and James Devine (Glasgow) to Associate.
Alistair is a Chartered Building Surveyor with over 5 years’ of experience having joined as a Graduate Surveyor in 2020. Supported by Director, Jared Neville, Associate, Lewis Redpath and Graduate Surveyor, James Donald; Alistair’s promotion helps to push forward an already strong team, from Contract Administration of various refurbishment projects ranging from £50k to an excess of £1m, including specification and design, procurement and project management through to completion. In his new role, Alistair will have greater involvement in the management of the team and will play an important role in the future growth of the department.
James joined Graham + Sibbald as a Student Surveyor in 2016, graduating in 2021 and later becoming Chartered in 2023. James is part of a large team of 10 based in Glasgow but the team cover the whole West of Scotland. He is directly supported by UK Head of Technical Services, Neil MacFarlane and Head of Building Surveying West, Andy Thomson. James’ promotion will assist with the management of projects, and he will be able to assist with the training of the 2 graduates within the team.
Both Alistair and James’ most recent work includes managing commercial fit-out projects, development monitoring, dilapidations and undertaking RCA portfolios. Their day-to-day work includes Schedules of Condition, Defect Analysis, Building Survey Reports as well as acting for both the Landlord and Tenant in the negotiation and settlement of Schedules of Dilapidations.
