Call for papers: Share your expertise at The UK Concrete Show 2027 Birmingham

Susannah Streeter

We’re excited to announce our call for papers for The UK Concrete Show 2027, taking place on 23–24 March 2027 at the NEC, Birmingham.

Located in the Concrete Connect Seminar Theatre, the 2026 programme was a huge success, attracting standing-room-only audiences and sparking debate on some of the most pressing issues facing the sector, from sustainable concrete and low-carbon materials to digitalisation, skills, repair and maintenance, and emerging technologies. You can still watch the Wednesday and Thursday seminar sessions on demand.

Whether you have technical expertise, project experience, research findings or innovative solutions to share, we’d love to hear from you.

Topics we’re looking for

We’re inviting fresh ideas and new voices to take the stage in 2027, with a particular emphasis on presentations built around practical case studies, project experience and measurable outcomes. If you’ve delivered a project that offers valuable lessons, implemented an innovative approach with demonstrable results, explored advances in low-carbon concrete, repair and maintenance, digital technologies or AI, or developed best practice that could benefit the wider industry, we’d love to hear from you.

Topics of interest include:

  • Project case studies and lessons learned from real-world concrete applications
  • Best practice and technical innovation delivering measurable results
  • Low-carbon concrete and decarbonisation in practice
  • Concrete repair, maintenance and asset management
  • Production, quality control and testing
  • Digital technologies, AI and automation improving efficiency and performance
  • Design, specification and engineering challenges
  • Skills, training and workforce development

Presentations should be technically informative, evidence-based and designed to encourage discussion and knowledge sharing.

Why take part?

Being part of the programme is your chance to make a real contribution to the UK’s concrete construction sector. By sharing your expertise, research, or project experience, you’ll help advance the collective knowledge of the industry and inspire meaningful change.

It’s also a chance to share ideas with peers, exchange experiences, and contribute to the ongoing dialogue that drives innovation across the sector. With a highly engaged audience ready to learn, debate and exchange ideas, your session could leave a lasting impact well beyond the show floor.

What you need to know

The seminar programme will once again be hosted by Susannah Streeter, leading broadcaster and sustainability commentator, who brings her expertise in chairing high-profile industry events.

Each session is built around concise, engaging talks, ideally up to 15 minutes, followed by a short Q&A with the audience. The session then concludes with a panel discussion, bringing speakers onto the stage to share perspectives, debate key issues, and answer audience questions.

The deadline for submissions is Friday 4 December 2026.

Submit your proposal today and help shape the seminar programme for The UK Concrete Show 2027.
