Cadman Cranes has today announced its certification as a B Corporation™ (B Corp™), joining a growing movement of companies that are redefining what it means to do business for the benefit of people and the planet. Verified by B Lab, the not-for-profit organisation behind the B Corp movement, the certification recognises that Cadman Cranes has met rigorous standards of social and environmental performance, transparency and accountability.

More importantly, B Corp Certification reflects a legally binding commitment to consider the impact of every business decision on its people, communities, customers and the planet, alongside delivering long-term value for shareholders.

As the B Corp movement continues to grow, certification remains relatively rare across construction, plant hire and heavy industry. At Cadman Cranes, we believe businesses like ours have an important role to play in helping shape a more sustainable future for our industry. Our certification reinforces our commitment to Leading Sustainable Lifting, and we hope it encourages others across construction and heavy industry to join the movement, demonstrating that responsible business and operational excellence can go hand in hand.

The news comes as the ongoing climate crisis and widening social inequality continue to pose urgent challenges to our economy. B Corp Certification assesses the entirety of a business’ operations and covers impact areas related to practices around governance, workers, community, the environment and customers. The certification process is rigorous, with companies required to provide evidence on performance while legally embedding their commitment to purpose as well as profit in their company articles.

Cadman Cranes is now part of a growing community of over 10,700 businesses globally that have certified as B Corps. The B Corp community in the UK is the largest and fastest-growing in the world, with over 2,700 companies spanning a range of different industries and sizes. Names include The Guardian, Innocent Drinks, Patagonia, Tony’s Chocolonely, The Big Issue, Finisterre, Elemis, and Sipsmith Gin.
