Three leading transport companies with specialist operations in the construction industry, Barron Wood Distribution (bwd), Construct IT and Evans Transport, have joined forces to win a UK-wide contract with Brett Landscaping and Building Products.

Brett Landscaping and Building Products is part of Brett Group, the largest independent building materials group in the UK, providing aggregates, concrete and paving products to commercial and domestic markets.

The three transport businesses will be working together to share volume and support Brett Landscaping and Building Products’ own fleet of vehicles. By optimising resources and expertise they will significantly reduce empty running, lower carbon emissions and maintain the high levels of on time in full (OTIF) deliveries that Brett Landscaping and Building Products’ customers expect.

bwd will be responsible for the transport planning and customer service from its headquarters in Preston. GPS technology and visibility tools, such as the bwd Driver App, will also form part of the service.

Under the new contract, the consortium will manage distribution of Brett Landscaping and Building Products’ full product portfolio from four sites, delivering materials to builders’ merchants and construction sites across the South of England. Collectively, distribution of circa 12,500 loads will be managed each year, ensuring consistent, efficient and reliable delivery for Brett Landscaping and Building Products’ customers.
