Bellway hosts ceremony to celebrate first homes completed at Roe Wood Park development in Harold Hill

Bellway hosted a ceremony to celebrate the first completed homes at its Roe Wood Park development at Havering College’s former Quarles campus in Harold Hill.
The housebuilder and Mercury Land Holdings, a wholly owned company of Havering Council which manages affordable housing in the borough, have teamed up to deliver 120 new homes on the site off Tring Gardens.
Bellway Thames Gateway invited a delegation from Havering Council and Mercury Land Holdings to the event on Friday 12 September.
Guests were given a tour of the development and then treated to a selection of food and drinks.
Roe Wood Park will feature 53 houses and apartments for private sale, including a mix of one, two and three-bedroom properties. There will also be 47 affordable homes for low-cost rent or shared ownership and 20 new homes will be made available for private rent through Mercury Land Holdings.

Emma Denton, Sales Director at Bellway Thames Gateway, said: “We are very proud of this pioneering partnership which is creating a brand-new community at Roe Wood Park and providing much-needed private and affordable homes for the local area.
“It was great to be able to welcome representatives from Havering Council and Mercury Land Holdings to celebrate the first completed homes here at the site. It is a significant milestone in the construction programme and one worth celebrating.
“With 15 homes now handed over to their new owners, we are looking forward to welcoming more new residents to the development in the coming months as construction work progresses.”
Councillor Paul McGeary, Cabinet Lead for Housing Property at Havering Council, said: “This ceremony marks more than just a construction milestone. It represents our commitment for providing new homes for local people and Roe Wood Park is a key part of our strategy to increase housing options for Havering residents.”
Chris Hobbs, Director of Mercury Land Holdings, said: “We’re proud to be delivering homes that not only meet the needs of our residents, but also contribute to the regeneration of the former Quarles site. Roe Wood Park is about creating a place where people can live, grow and connect.”
A selection of three-bedroom homes are currently available to reserve, with prices starting from £545,000.
