Ravago Building Solutions UK becomes first XPS manufacturer to have full construction product range CCPI assessed
Ravago Building Solutions, the UK’s original manufacturer of extruded polystyrene (XPS) insulation, has become the first XPS manufacturer assessed as conforming with the Code for Construction Product Information (CCPI) assessment for its entire Ravatherm XPS X construction product range.
The CCPI is a voluntary scheme that sets out clear standards for the accuracy, clarity and accessibility of construction product information. Developed by the Construction Products Association and administered by Construction Product Information Ltd, the scheme provides greater confidence that assessed product information is clear, accurate, up-to-date, accessible and unambiguous, giving greater confidence in material data.
While some manufacturers have obtained the assessed status for individual products, Ravago is the first to be fully assessed across its entire XPS construction product portfolio, demonstrating the company’s commitment to data integrity throughout every product. Ravatherm XPS X is currently the only range of XPS thermal insulation boards to be CCPI assessed.
Joan Ferrer, Commercial Director UK & Ireland at Ravago Building Solutions, said: “When we first looked at the CCPI framework, we recognised immediately that it reflected the way we already work and aspire to keep improving. Transparency has always been central to our approach, and this assessment gave us the opportunity to hold ourselves publicly accountable to that principle.
“Becoming CCPI assessed for our whole Ravatherm XPS X construction range means that the product information we supply meets CCPI’s requirements, giving architects, engineers, contractors and merchants the confidence that they are using accurate, reliable data from specification to installation.”
To achieve CCPI assessed status, Ravago underwent an extensive process that assessed the evidence supporting claims made in product literature and marketing. This process went beyond traditional documentation checks, demanding documented systems, ongoing reviews and continuous improvement commitments.
Joan added: “This was not a quick exercise to tick a box – it was an affirmation of our values: professionalism, entrepreneurship, humility and a focus on people. For our customers, it means one thing: when you select Ravatherm XPS X, you know exactly what you are getting.”
Industry bodies, including the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB), have publicly backed the CCPI initiative as a critical step in restoring confidence in construction product information post-Grenfell and in helping to raise standards across the sector.
