Big Brew Tour encourages positive conversations for tradespeople
Big Brew Tour, TP Northampton.
Tarmac Blue Circle, in partnership with Band of Builders, has successfully completed its Big Brew Tour.
The nationwide initiative visited 30 Travis Perkins branches across the UK and encouraged hundreds of tradespeople to talk openly about mental health in the construction industry over a cup of tea and a friendly chat.
The tour provided welcoming spaces for connection and conversation, giving tradespeople the chance to share experiences, discuss challenges, and learn about the support available within their industry.
At the heart of the Big Brew Tour was a simple but powerful message: taking time to talk can make all the difference. By fostering these conversations, the initiative has helped to shine a light on wellbeing in an industry where long hours, physical demands, and isolation can often take their toll.
Garry Gregory, Packed Products Director at Tarmac, said: “Seeing the Big Brew Tour come to fruition and impact so many people has been incredibly rewarding. Across all 30 branches, we saw tradespeople, branch colleagues, and managers come together to talk openly, support one another and break down the stigma surrounding mental health in construction.
“Hearing personal stories and seeing people connect, often for the first time about difficult topics, really showed the power of community. If these conversations continue beyond the tour, then we’ve achieved something truly meaningful for mental health across our industry.”
Gavin Crane, CEO of Band of Builders, added: “Completing the Big Brew Tour alongside Tarmac Blue Circle and Travis Perkins has been a fantastic milestone. Every stop on the tour was filled with honest and heartfelt discussions, whether a small contractor or a branch colleague, everyone had a story or insight to share.
“What’s been most inspiring is how the events sparked ongoing dialogue within branches themselves, and this tour has shown that our industry is ready to talk.”
The Big Brew Tour may have concluded, but the conversation doesn’t stop here. Band of Builders continues to offer mental health support for anyone in the construction community who needs it.
