Raising the Roof on Innovation: RCI Expo Joins UK Construction Week Birmingham (September 30th to October 2nd)

Following last year’s hugely successful debut, the latest products, materials and technologies will come together under one roof when the UK’s only dedicated roofing event Roofing, Cladding & Insulation (RCI Expo) returns to UK Construction Week Birmingham (September 30th to October 2nd).

Backed by the UK’s leading roofing association, the NFRC (The National Federation of Roofing Contractors), and The Rooflight Association, the RCI Expo will bring together leading professionals, manufacturers, and innovators from across the building sector.

With live demonstrations, product launches, and technical workshops, attendees gain hands-on insight into how modern advancements are shaping energy efficiency, durability, and sustainability in this area of construction.

James Talman, CEO, NFRC, said: “NFRC is proud to partner with UK Construction Week Birmingham to help deliver the Roofing, Cladding and Insulation Show. The show is a vital platform for showcasing innovation, driving best practice and inspiring collaboration across the sector. As our sector rapidly evolves, events like this are more important than ever.”

Jon Shooter, marketing committee chair, The Rooflight Association, added: “We’re extremely pleased to be partnering with UK Construction Week. Strategically, it’s a strong fit for The Rooflight Association as we’ve recently expanded our membership to include rooflight installers, specifiers, distributors and other rooflight-related businesses and individuals, alongside rooflight manufacturers.  This event is the ideal platform to engage with these stakeholders. It will allow us to raise awareness, share knowledge, make new connections, and showcase the value of rooflighting as a vital part of the built environment.”

With dozens of specialist companies in attendance, RCI Expo will feature an array of exhibitors, including the likes of Rock Roofing Products, Don & Low, Idelco Insulation, Impervious Waterproofing, Harvey Roofing Products, Rubberseal, Licata, Cure-it Composites, G&B Northwest, Stiga and many more.

Neil Gaisford, Divisional Director, Construction, commented: “Roofing, cladding and insulation are all key elements of any building project, so RCI Expo plays a fundamental role at UK Construction Week – not least keeping visitors up to date with the latest legislation, technology and products.”

A must-visit for anyone involved in the sector, RCI Expo will also feature its own CPD-accredited* programme of workshops, expert-led presentations, panel discussions, and interactive sessions.

The schedule of talks includes:

  • The Innovation Imperative with NFRC: Transforming Training, Compliance, and Roofing Delivery: Led by the National Federation of Roofing Contractors (NFRC), this panel explores how contractor-led technological innovation, smarter compliance, and transformative training approaches can turn the tide on the critical skills shortage in the sector.
  • Powering Up Skills, Standards, and Opportunities in Solar Installation with NFRC and MCS: This session explores the accelerating solar revolution – driven by the Future Homes Standard and Warm Homes Plan – through insights from roofing and electrical firms that have moved into solar, covering key lessons on training, accreditation, cross-trade collaboration, alongside updates on evolving regulations and upcoming legislative changes.
  • Insolvency in the Supply Chain: Protecting Your Business in the Roofing, Cladding & Insulation Sector: With ongoing economic uncertainty, insolvency risks are rising – especially in high-risk, materials-dependent sectors like roofing, cladding, and insulation. This talk led by Money Advice Trust will explore how to spot early warning signs of financial difficulty, what steps to take to protect your business, and how to manage risk when suppliers or contractors face collapse.
  • Raising the Bar: Innovation and Safety in Access Solutions: Led by The Scaffolding Association, this panel will explore how cutting-edge innovations in access systems are transforming safety standards across roofing, cladding, and insulation works, showcasing new technologies, materials, and best practices that reduce risk and increase efficiency on construction sites.
