Sustainable Investments Named in North West Fastest 50 for Third Year Running
SUSTAINABLE Investments Ltd has been named among the fastest-growing companies in the North West at the 2026 North West Fastest 50 Awards, marking its third consecutive year on the prestigious list and its fourth appearance overall.
Skelmersdale-headquartered Sustainable Investments has achieved three years of back-to-back recognition reflecting the sustained growth of the group and the instrumental role played by its companies in driving innovation and large-scale retrofit delivery across the UK. The group comprises Sustainable Building Services (UK) Ltd (SBS), Sustainable Energy Services (UK) Ltd (SES), Sustainable Smart Technologies (SST) and Permarock Products Ltd.
The recognition from Ward Hadaway follows another strong year of performance across the group, with every business unit demonstrating service excellence alongside meaningful, positive impacts tackling the “five main crises of modern times”, cost-of-living, energy security, climate change, housing and health.
Recent highlights include SBS securing major retrofit contracts, both in the north west and nationally, to upgrade thousands of social and privately owned homes and SES providing retrofit consultancy and management of private domestic led energy efficiency schemes.
Meanwhile Sustainable Smart Technologies (SST) completed the rollout of its new domestic smart home monitoring platform and Permarock has continued to supply energy efficiency products at scale to a wide range of buildings all over the UK.
Together the four organisations offer a full retrofit turnkey solution through an integrated delivery model to effectively assess, design, install, maintain and monitor projects.
Derek Horrocks, chair of Sustainable Investments Ltd, said, “Making the Fastest 50 for a third year in a row is a milestone that means a huge amount to everyone across the group. Growth like this doesn’t happen by accident. It’s built on the dedication and expertise of our teams and a shared commitment to delivering positive change.
“With our retrofit schemes delivered by SBS, retrofit consultancy from SES, the data-led services of SST or Permarock’s trusted energy efficiency products, each brand plays a vital part in delivering real social value, alleviating fuel poverty, improving homes and buildings, and supporting the UK’s net zero transition. We strive to make a real positive difference to people’s lives and we’re looking forward to continuing this mission as the group enters its next phase of growth.”
The Fastest 50 list is compiled annually by top UK law firm Ward Hadaway, in partnership with the Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce. It celebrates the region’s top-performing, privately-owned companies based on average turnover growth over the past three years while remaining profitable. The 2026 final rankings were revealed during a special event in Manchester on Friday 10 July, bringing together the region’s most successful business leaders.
Liz Bottrill, executive partner in Ward Hadaway’s Manchester office, said: “I extend my congratulations to Sustainable Investments and all of the businesses recognised in this year’s North West Fastest 50. Every company on the list has earned its place by growing consistently and profitably, often in conditions where progress has required careful decisions and real resilience.
“The Fastest 50 is one of the clearest examples of what we mean by backing ambition. These awards recognise the businesses prepared to invest, hire, enter new markets and make the decisions needed to turn ambition into sustained growth.
“What stands out this year is the intent behind that growth. Companies across the North West are building stronger teams, improving how they operate and taking a longer-term view of where they want to go next. Sustainable Investments should be very proud to be part of that story, and we are pleased to recognise its achievement.”
