Steelworks up on three new units at flagship St. Modwen Park Tamworth scheme

St. Modwen Industrial & Logistics is continuing to add to its Midlands offering with a further three units, scaling more than 160,000 sq ft, at its site in Tamworth.

The erection of steelworks has now commenced on two 48,800 sq ft units – which can be combined to make 97,600 sq ft – and one 63,000 sq ft unit, all of which will be ready for occupation in May 2021.

St. Modwen’s latest builds form part of the third phase of development at the prime 32-acre site, which is also home to St. Modwen’s biggest ever speculative industrial and logistics unit, covering 321,000 sq ft.

Strategically located at the heart of the Midlands, St. Modwen Park Tamworth provides unrivalled access to Junction 10 of the M42, making it the ideal home for leading industrial and logistics companies.

With further development planned, the entire scheme is expected to create around 1,700 new jobs in the region once complete.

Rob Richardson, Senior Development Manager at St. Modwen Industrial and Logistics, said: “It’s great to see our next phase of development taking shape in Tamworth. We’re increasing our offering of high-quality industrial and logistics space, countering the lack of supply of mid-sized units in the immediate area and providing a range of size options for businesses to choose from.”

Joint marketing agents for the new units are Savills and Colliers International.

Katie Monks, Associate Director at Savills, added: “St. Modwen’s flagship Tamworth scheme typifies everything that being located at the heart of the Midlands can provide. This is a well-located business park, with unrivalled access to the M42. Prospective occupiers looking at the three new units won’t be disappointed, thanks to market-leading design and the high-specification on offer.”

Simon Norton, Director at Colliers International, added: “The developer’s ethos of creating a high-quality and sustainable commercial development is clear at St. Modwen Park Tamworth. It’s great to see that the construction of these additional warehouse units is moving at a pace in order to keep track with the demand we are seeing from occupiers looking for high-grade accommodation in the region.”
