Red Rhino named as finalist at the Midlands Family Business Awards

Lincolnshire-based crusher and screener manufacturer, Red Rhino, has been named as a finalist at this year’s coveted Midlands Family Business Awards.

This coveted annual awards ceremony is organised by third generation family business, The Wilson Organisation, which specialises in insurance and financial services.

The Midlands Family Business Awards aims to shine a light on family businesses of all sizes, from across a range of sectors, providing them the opportunity to be recognised for their significant contribution to the region’s economy and its local communities.

Over fifty Midlands businesses have been shortlisted across nine categories – including Sustainability, Property & Construction Excellence, Digital & Tech Innovation, Service Excellence, Young Director and Employer of the Year, as well as Best Small Business, Fastest Growing and the much-coveted Family Business of the Year.

Red Rhino has been named as a finalist within the Family Business of the Year category, following many years of sustained growth.

The business is situated in Grantham and was acquired in 2009 by Winfield Engineering – a family owned and managed business with over 50 years of specialist engineering experience in the supply of agricultural and commercial fabrications.

Red Rhino’s product range includes crushers suited to small-scale construction and demolition projects, as well as larger remote controlled crushers and screeners with the ability to crush and organise material such as concrete, brick and other building waste into reusable material.

The business, which manufactures its products in the UK, has enjoyed significant growth over recent years and continues to attract new customers in every corner of the globe – from the USA, to central Europe.

Red Rhino will compete against five fellow finalists from a range of industries at this year’s awards, with a glittering event taking place on Thursday 3rd October at Athena in Leicester.

Speaking about Red Rhino’s nomination at this year’s awards, company Director Laura Winfield said, “We are delighted to have been named as a finalist at this year’s awards. It means so much to us as a business that prides itself on its embedded family values,”

She continues, “For us, our people are an extension of our family, as are our customers. We take pride in our attentive levels of customer service, with tailored support on offer to businesses on a global scale when it comes to ordering and operating our machines. I think it’s our caring culture that has nurtured Red Rhino into the success it has become and we are incredibly proud of how far we’ve come since we purchased the business in 2009,”

“We look forward to meeting all of the fellow finalists at the awards evening and wish everyone the best of luck within their respective categories.”
