Pashley defines the future of micromobility with landmark bike share scheme at Berkeley Group development

Pashley’s new pioneering and innovative design approach re-defines the future of micromobility and the accessibility of bike share.

The 100-year-old British bike brand, synonymous with great British design, manufacturing and ingenuity, showcases its smart bike share solution at London’s The Green Quarter. Developed by the Berkeley Group, The Green Quarter is an 88-acre parkland and canalside residential development in Southall. The bike share scheme is exclusively for residents and the first of its kind in the UK.

Pashley offers a complete bike share proposition with an intelligent and all-encompassing solution that provides a distinctive fleet of the brand’s award-winning bike share specific ‘smart’ bicycles, intelligent locking system and the secure and versatile Pashley dock – all connected together with the new Pashley developed IoT providing seamless connectivity and user experience with data management partner Urban Sharing.

At the heart of the Pashley bike share proposition is the award-winning and proven Pashley Prospect smart bicycle, available in both electric assisted and conventional versions. Designed from the ground up specifically for bike share projects, this high-quality, innovative British engineered and smart built bicycle is low-maintenance, robust, practical, versatile, comfortable and vandal-resistant, as well as being packed with intelligence and connectivity.

Designed and developed by Pashley – the Pashley docking system further heralds the brand’s dynamic accession to the micromobility landscape. Simple in style and effective in design, the Pashley bike share dock is easy to install and maintain. Secure and vandal-resistant, versatile and not requiring external power, the dock can be positioned in almost any location and in a multitude of configurations to ensure bikes are racked, stable and secure. This significantly simplifies the time, complexity and costs associated with bike share scheme planning and implementation and opens the benefits of bike share up to so many more public and private sector opportunities of all sizes.

Pashley’s innovation further extends to the patented ‘claw’ lock design and intelligent remote locking system that utilises the latest technologies from the automotive industry – adding further benefits to security and the user experience.

Working closely with the Berkeley Group the fleet of distinctively branded Pashley Prospect bicycles and docks for The Green Quarter’s resident bike share scheme feature the developments striking branding to unify the scheme aesthetic and environmental focus.

“Our bike fleet has a total of 30 bikes available throughout the development, with 60 docking stations. Half of the docks are located opposite Southall Station, while the rest are across the development for convenience.
