National housebuilder recognises Connect It for its work on award-winning Hampshire development

Leading national housebuilder Barratt David Wilson Homes has recognised Connect It Utility Services for its work at the award-winning Harbour Place development in Havant, Hampshire.
Harbour Place, which won Large Residential Development of the Year at the South Coast Property awards, is a development of over 300 homes surrounded by more than 30 acres of green space.
With sustainability at the top of Barratt David Wilson Homes’ list of priorities for the development, Hedge End-based Connect It’s multi-utility approach helped ensure that Harbour Place was completed with as little disruption to the environment as possible.
Connect It Utility Services were awarded the design and build contract for the multi-utilities package to power 300+ plots, including new homes and blocks of flats. The scope of works included the installation of an IDNO-adopted low voltage electrical network, supplied via a high voltage point of connection and terminating at a 1000kVA substation. An IGT-adopted low pressure gas network was also delivered, fed from a medium pressure connection and terminating at a gas pressure regulator. In addition, a NAV-adopted water mains and services network was installed as part of the scheme.
In recognition of that work, Connect It was awarded a certificate, presented by Peter Wilson, Site Manager at Barratt David Wilson Homes Southampton division, along with Marketing Manager Megan Hamlyn, who said: “Connect It’s commitment to sustainability matches our own and by providing a one-stop solution across all utilities, their approach saves time and costs, while eliminating the CO2 impact of having multiple contractors to visit the site.”
Stuart Martin, Operations Director at Connect It, said: “We are proud to be recognised for our work on Harbour Place and we look forward to continuing to work with Barratt David Wilson Homes on future developments.”
