Land Sheriffs achieve international environmental standard with positive recommendation

Specialist security providers Land Sheriffs have achieved the internationally-recognised ISO 14001 standard for their environmental management systems.

As part of their commitment to becoming increasingly more sustainable, Land Sheriffs recently completed their ISO 14001 audit, achieving certification with a positive recommendation.

“As a security provider for the rail industry – the greenest form of transport – we understand the importance of sustainability. Decreasing our environmental impact is a key focus for our business, so achieving this standard is definitely a proud achievement for the whole team!” says James Coyle, Managing Director of Land Sheriffs.

The ISO 14001 standard provides a framework for businesses to help implement environmental management systems and improve environmental performance, including waste management and resource usage.

To achieve certification, Land Sheriffs had to demonstrate their commitment to ensuring regulatory compliance, as well as their proactive approach to ongoing environmental improvement.

“Sustainability is a priority for many of our clients, so achieving this certification is hopefully a key indicator that we’re also just as dedicated to creating a sustainable future. With our new environmental management systems, we’re well placed to ensure we’re continually improving our sustainability efforts” adds James.

Based in Essex, Land Sheriffs provide specialist security services for a range of clients, primarily in the rail industry. Working across Britain, their services range from mobile patrols, manned guarding and key holding, to 24/7 365 proactive CCTV monitoring, on-train security and crime prevention measures.

Their ISO 14001 certification is just one of many recent efforts to improve their sustainability and reduce their environmental impact.

“On top of our ISO 14001 certification, we’re proud to be a carbon neutral business. Over the last year, we’ve offset 475.09 tonnes of CO₂e carbon emissions. Plus, we’ve introduced recycling initiatives for our PPE to make sure it’s responsibly handled, recycled and kept in circulation for as long as possible” says James.

Land Sheriffs have 20 years’ experience providing smarter security services for their clients, including Network Rail. Their award-winning SIA-licensed team are dedicated to delivering a consistently effective and fast response for all clients.

As well as ISO 14001, Land Sheriffs hold a number of accreditations to ensure they meet their clients’ expectations, including ISO 9001, Cyber Essentials and The Railway Industry Supplier Qualification Scheme (RISQS).

“Delivering the very best for our clients is our top priority, so we’re continually working to ensure we achieve this. As demonstrated by our new accreditation, our whole team always go above and beyond to not only protect our clients’ people, assets and infrastructure, but the planet too” concludes James.
