Futurebuild leads the way with considerate and sustainability credentials
Details of the renewed partnership between Futurebuild and the Considerate Constructors Scheme (CCS) have reinforced the event’s position as the most considerate in the built environment sector.
Futurebuild has confirmed that it will partner with the CCS and use the Scheme’s Code of Considerate Practice for the second year running, as part of its commitment to achieving the highest possible standards of sustainability, respectfulness, inclusivity and diversity across conference and seminar speaker panels. CCS’s involvement in the event will also go a step further for 2019, as it exclusively brings its industry-leading expertise to the event’s Knowledge Forum.
Forming part of a comprehensive education programme in partnership with CITB, CCS will deliver a series of workshops in the Knowledge Forum focusing on mental health, wellbeing, skills and diversity, and the fantastic resources available through the Scheme to both built environment professionals and the general public.
Martin Hurn, Managing Director of Futurebuild Events, commented: “The CCS’s fundamental values represent everything we work hard to promote and the work we did with CCS at last year’s event really laid a solid foundation ahead of this year’s Futurebuild.
“Last year we were the first industry event to use the Scheme’s Code of Considerate Practice and it’s vital that we continue to lead the way for industry events when it comes to our sustainability and considerate credentials, as well as projecting a positive image of the industry on a wider scale. We’re therefore delighted not only to be partners for the second year in a row, but also to be able to build on the partnerships success and further harness the wealth of knowledge available to built environment professionals through the Scheme.”
Considerate Constructors Scheme Chief Executive Edward Hardy added: “We applaud Futurebuild’s continued commitment to promoting a positive image of the construction industry by raising its standards in considerate construction for everyone involved in delivering and attending the event, the wider community and the environment.
“Futurebuild provides the Scheme with a great opportunity to raise awareness and understanding of what the Scheme does. We are incredibly excited to be part of Futurebuild’s Knowledge Forum, delivering a range of essential workshops and seminars each day. We encourage event attendees to come along to our sessions to understand more about the Scheme and how to learn from leading organisations on best practices in mental health and wellbeing, addressing the skills crisis and increasing diversity.”
