Fresh Residents Show Bags of Support
Fresh, the accommodation management business, is pleased to announce the results of its latest efforts as part of the British Heart Foundation’s Pack for Good campaign.
Residents donated 5,531 bags worth of preloved items to the BHF, which could raise up to £116,151 to help fund lifesaving research into heart and circulatory diseases.
The Pack for Good campaign, run by the BHF, encourages those living within Student Accommodation to donate preloved items at the end of term, such as clothing, shoes, books, DVDs, bags, and small electricals, enabling the charity to recycle goods that might otherwise go to landfill. Throughout the scheme and supported by Fresh, residents made full use of the donation drop-off points.
Amanda Purkiss, BHF Partnership Manager said:
“We have been delighted with the response from Fresh students and their incredible support. Our shops rely on donations to continue raising money to fund lifesaving research. Thanks to the generous donations from the students and staff of Fresh, we have been able to support our shops in local communities nationwide.
“We’re always on the lookout for more donations and we take pride in the environmental good our shops and stores do through the reuse of donations from the public. If other Purpose-Built Student Accommodation (PBSA) providers or universities would like to collaborate with BHF shops and offer valuable collection facilities, please get in touch by emailing packforgood@bhf.org.uk.”
Jane Crouch, COO at Fresh, said:
“BHF shops are an integral part of our high street, and we are proud to have provided a convenient way for our students to donate items to such a vital cause. Supporting initiatives like the Pack for Good Campaign aligns with Fresh’s commitment to ESG principles and giving back to the communities we are part of.
“This collaboration has not only helped raise vital funds for the BHF’s lifesaving research but also contributed to sustainability by preventing thousands of items from going to landfill. We’re thrilled with the success of this partnership and remain committed to making a positive impact through responsible and meaningful collaborations.”
