FIRMS GIVEN A LIFT IN EN:PROCURE’S NEW £30M FRAMEWORK AGREEMENT

TEN contractors are celebrating after winning their bids for work in a new £30m framework hosted by leading regional procurement specialist EN:Procure.

The framework, the latest ‘Gen-4’ version, encompasses the installation, refurbishment, servicing and maintenance of lifts, stairlifts and personal lifting equipment in residential, public and commercial buildings.

EN:Procure, part of social housing consortium Efficiency North, had invited tenders for work from companies that could fulfil its requirements to work collaboratively, to a high standard and reflect its commitment to wider regeneration.

The 10 highly-skilled contractors appointed have specialist third party or independent accreditation through the Lift and Escalator Association (LEIA) or the Lifting Equipment Engineers’ Association (LEEA).

Their credentials further underline that the EN:Procure framework provides a leading-edge supply chain for members, said Emma Mottram, director of operations at EN:Procure. She said those chosen will provide more specialist services, essential in a complex sector that relies on high safety standards and the need to meet stringent legal requirements.

“As always, we look for companies with impressive skills in a particular sector,” said Emma. “For example, those working in healthcare and social care settings must prioritise people’s safety, mobility and dignity while also adhering to important health and safety regulations.

“We have been so impressed by the track record of the companies that applied to the framework – we know this future work will be in good hands. They are also a good match for our constant focus on creating jobs and training opportunities, work placements and apprenticeships that bring wider benefits to the area they will operate in.”

The two original lots in the invitation to tender (ITT), on projects across the UK and lasting for 48 months – with potential for contract renewals – have been combined, said EN:Procure.

The types of lifts involved are low and high-rise and include hydraulic and traction passenger lifts, goods lifts, service lifts and trolleys, lifting equipment for healthcare providers, curved and straight stairlifts, wheelchair platform lifts and ceiling track hoists.

The contracts will include work on escalator installations, moving walkways, technical inspections and lift maintenance services.

Emma added: “This is a great opportunity for contractors working in this part of the built environment. We’re delighted to appoint a range of successful firms that share our ethos and will bring social value and other benefits to the wider community. We look forward to the new job creation that this framework will entail and to working with companies as they further develop their ESG strategies.”

The new framework was procured under EN:Procure’s latest Gen-4 generation of tenders, incorporating the FAC-1 Framework Agreement and dynamic models for ESG delivery, as well as a focus on increased transparency and collaboration. It will provide a wide range of social, economic and environmental benefits for communities served by Efficiency North’s membership of social housing providers, local authorities and other public sector bodies.
