FARRANS OPENS APPLICATIONS FOR 40 GRADUATE AND PLACEMENT POSITIONS

Leading civil engineering and building contractor Farrans Construction has opened its application process for 40 highly sought after positions on its graduate programme, Farrans Foundation, with intake dates in June and September 2026.
The company is also recruiting for undergraduate placement roles with opportunities based in Scotland, Northern Ireland, Ireland and England.
The application process will remain open until 1st December 2025, with interviews starting in October. Offers will be made in December and January.
Farrans Foundation is an award-winning, two-year graduate programme which provides applicants with the necessary experience and knowledge to fast track their career in construction, quantity surveying and civil engineering. With a blend of classroom-based learning and on-site experience, this is the starting point on the journey to becoming future industry leaders.
A small number of undergraduate placement opportunities are also available in civil engineering, construction management, quantity surveying, quality and IT, which provide a great insight into what a career in the construction industry is like. High performers are offered bursaries to support with final year study and they will have the offer of full-time employment once they have graduated which will automatically enrol them in Farrans Foundation two-year graduate programme.
Dominic Lavery, Managing Director of Farrans, said: “It’s a very exciting time for young people to be entering the construction and civil engineering industry and they will play an important part in delivering infrastructure which will bring about a more sustainable future for generations to come. Our projects are helping to shape the energy, water and aviation sectors and we are looking for the next intake of talent to support us.
“A career in Farrans will bring you the guidance and mentorship you need to progress quickly. We know that everyone learns in different ways and we have shaped our early-career offerings to ensure that we provide practical experience alongside classroom-based learning. We recognise the value that our graduates and placements bring to our business and we look forward to welcoming applications from our 2026 cohort.”
Joel Bell, Graduate Quantity Surveyor at Farrans, said: “I was initially attracted to Farrans due to their strong record of delivering high-profile projects across the UK and Ireland. I have been part of the team delivering the new Public Transport Interchange at Bristol Airport this year and I have been given the opportunity to take ownership of my work while supported by a great team who have provided excellent guidance and mentorship. This is an approach which I feel has accelerated my development. For new graduates joining Farrans, my advice would be to spend as much time on site as possible and ask plenty of questions of your team, particularly those specialising in different areas from your own. You’ll find they’re always happy to help.”
