Digital Toolbox Days offer hands-on training in advanced construction technologies

Interactive workshops giving customers the chance to sample the latest digital tools for better efficiency across the construction industry are being staged by Finning UK & Ireland.

Digital Toolbox Days offer the opportunity to explore a range of innovative solutions designed to improve productivity, safety and compliance. Customers are being invited to take part in demonstrations, skills training and Q&A sessions, with events being staged in different locations each month.

Applications and software being showcased include Cat® Inspect, a vehicle inspection management system from Caterpillar®. The paperless system, available to download as an app, enables customers to carry out digital daily walkaround inspections quickly and efficiently, minimising downtime thanks to standardised inspection forms designed specifically for each fleet.

Customers taking part also get an insight into Caterpillar’s official online parts platform, parts.cat.com. The online platform allows users to search by machine model or serial number, view detailed parts diagrams, identify components, check availability and pricing, and place orders online. Designed to streamline maintenance and minimise downtime, the platform helps customers manage repairs more efficiently while ensuring they are using approved, specification-compliant Cat parts.

Telematics software VisionLink® provides real time tracking, diagnostics and monitoring of machinery including driver behaviour analysis. Teams from Finning will be on hand during the workshops to demonstrate how the intelligence tool opens up access to increased productivity and enhanced safety, showing how the data can be used to identify training opportunities and schedule how assets are used.

Madeleine Hughes, Digital Experience Sales Specialist at Finning UK & Ireland, said: “Our Digital Toolbox Days are aimed at empowering customers to take advantage of the full suite of digital products and services available to them.

“These events are the ideal opportunity to identify how to bridge any gaps between digital literacy and technical skills within workforces, and how to ensure the most effective and efficient systems are in place for an optimised construction business.

“The events we have staged so far have been very successful, providing the time and resources for our customers to better understand the role digital integration has in construction. We can offer mini tutorials to troubleshoot issues, signpost customers to more extensive training sessions, or even just spend time getting to know their businesses and the systems that will best support their goals.”

The Digital Toolbox Days will take place at Finning branches across the country, with invitations extended to customers across each area. Attendees will receive a goodie bag, refreshments and access to advice and expertise from Finning digital sales specialists.

Madeleine said: “We want to make sure customers are getting the most out of their Cat machines, and that means being able to access the products and services designed to optimise performance.

“We’re here to answer questions and keep our customers up-to-date with the full digital offer, from how to order parts online from a mobile phone while out at site, to activating real-time alerts to keep fleets performing at their best. We’re here to help.”
