Capital & Centric revolutionises renting with launch of Ollo

Dodgy landlords. Dreadful service. Dreary white boxes. Renting in the UK needs a reboot – and Ollo, by Capital & Centric, is set to change the game.

The social impact developer has launched a new company which will manage its growing portfolio of rental communities, including recently completed award-winning Eyewitness Works in Sheffield.

Ollo is set to raise the bar for rentals, with each home featuring the best of design and kitted out with high-quality appliances and sustainable Scandi HAY furniture. Every Ollo community features next level amenities with spaces to hang out, improve wellbeing and work.

Capital&Centric have built a strong reputation for curating proper communities that bring people together with co-working spaces, mini-cinis, gyms, private dining and resident lounges. Each pet-friendly neighbourhood features bags of outdoor space, from plant packed public squares to rooftop terraces, all designed for socials, pop-ups and events.

Rather than moving on after laying the last brick, the on-site Ollo team will make life easy for residents, with a raft of services from cleaning to pet sitting. The Ollo app provides the total package where residents can chat to neighbours, sign up to socials, nab exclusive resident discounts and report maintenance issues.

Tom Wilmot, joint-managing director at Capital&Centric said: “With Ollo, we’re redefining what it means to rent by offering more than just a place to live – we’re building communities where people will thrive. Quality is everything, from the design of the buildings to the spec of the interiors. But life at Ollo is much more than just the spaces, with a packed calendar of socials where you can get to know your neighbours (and their pups!). Start the day right with sunrise yoga, get cosy with a movie night, go wild at a pizza party, or get stuck into wine and cheese tasting.”

Ollo will first take up the reins at the developer’s Eyewitness Works in Sheffield – a former cutlery works now transformed into a mix of one-, two- and three-bed apartments, duplexes and townhouses. Goods Yard in Stoke-on-Trent and Farnworth Green in Bolton will be the next to follow in 2025 with Weir Mill in Stockport set to open in the Summer.

Known for their transformation of some of the North’s stunning historic buildings, Capital&Centric even brought Channel 4 to Sheffield, with Eyewitness Works featuring weekly on The Big Interiors Battle fronted by AJ Odudu last year. Capital&Centric recently announced its biggest project to date – delivering 2,000 homes for the UK’s largest new town, Northstowe in Cambridgeshire.
