B&W plant hire expands CASE fleet to 34 excavators
Established in 1993, B&W Plant Hire is one of the largest plant hire businesses in the UK. In January 2018, General Manager Andrew Partington decided to diversify the fleet and started to invest in CASE excavators. Just over a year later, the company’s fleet now numbers 34 excavators.
He describes the reasons for the change: “We’d heard good things about the CASE machines and we soon struck up a good relationship with our local CASE dealer Dennis Barnfield Ltd. After trialling a couple of machines and being very pleased with the strength and power of these excavators, we decided to start replacing other brands in our fleet with CASE excavators.
B&W Plant Hire’s CASE excavators are most often used on construction sites, with the main operators being housebuilders and their contractors. The B&W Plant Hire fleet consists of CASE CX80C, CX130D, CX145D, CX210D, CX245D, and CX210D LR excavators.
“We describe these machines as ‘bullet-proof’. They really are incredibly strong and very well made. When you’re working in the plant hire industry, your machines are put through a lot, you need reliability and a low total cost of ownership.”
As well as supplying the excavators, Dennis Barnfield Ltd provides a full range of attachments with the machines including hydraulic breakers, peckers and jaw grabs. The CASE dealer also provides a supply of spare parts as and when needed.
“We’re proud of our relationship with B&W Plant Hire,” explains Graham Barnfield, Managing Director, Dennis Barnfield Ltd. “We’re pleased that B&W Plant Hire has an ongoing plan to continue its investment in CASE machines and they tell us that customers are now specifically asking to hire CASE equipment as they have been pleased with their previous experience.”
Barnfield continues: “These machines work hard so we make sure that B&W Plant Hire has all maintenance parts available when they are needed, 24-hours a day. They have over 120 staff working on their fleet across all of their brands and we’ve often had parts to them within an hour.”
“When we add new machines to our fleet, we often need to do so in a hurry,” said Andrew Partington, General Manager, B&W Plant Hire. “Dennis Barnfield Ltd can deliver new CASE excavators within one to two weeks. This gives us the security that we need to ensure that our customers always have a good quality and reliable machine when they need it.”
“We are always delighted when customers take a CASE machine following a trial,” said Anthony Bouvié, Business Director Northern Europe, CASE Construction Equipment. “It allows customers to see the power and efficiency CASE machines deliver prior to purchase. We hope to see B&W Plant Hire continue to expand their fleet in the future.”
