BSG award underpins Hills’ Wellbeing commitment

Swindon-based Hills Homes Developments has scooped a prestigious national Occupational Health award for its online employee Wellbeing Hub.
The Building Safety Group (BSG) is the UK’s largest construction industry safety group, and their annual awards recognise members’ commitment to the highest standards of health, safety and wellbeing management. The recent awards ceremony, held at the Black Country Living Museum in Dudley, saw Hills Homes triumph in the hotly contested category of Occupational Health and Wellbeing Initiative.
Hills’ Wellbeing Hub is an online employee resource, which provides 24/7 access to a wealth of useful information, helpful links and reminders of employee benefits – which are divided into four pillars of: mental health, physical health, financial and lifestyle.
Mark Tinson, Managing Director of Hills Homes, commented:
“The standard of companies from across the UK that were shortlisted at the BSG awards was extremely high. It was therefore fantastic to see Hills and our HR team, who created and implemented the Wellbeing Hub in conjunction with colleagues from Communications, receive the well-earned recognition and win the award for what the judges considered the best ‘Occupational Health and Wellbeing Initiative.”
“I am extremely proud of the HR team and their efforts in winning this award. It not only reinforces how highly regarded we view them within the Homes Division, but it will also put more visibility on what is an excellent platform, and will hopefully result in even more of our employees making use of the benefits it provides.”
Pamela Hunt, Director of HR at The Hills Group added:
“We are incredibly proud to receive this recognition from BSG. This award reflects our commitment to fostering a culture where wellbeing is not just a priority, but a core part of how we operate. Our people are our greatest strength, and this achievement reinforces the importance of listening, supporting, and investing in wellbeing.”
The Building Safety Group judges explain why Hills’ Wellbeing Hub won the award as the best Occupational Health and Wellbeing Initiative:
“To increase mental health awareness throughout the business, Hills chose to build its own ‘Wellbeing Hub’ which would help to support the professional and private lives of staff. The Wellbeing Hub was developed and launched on a user-friendly platform offering Mental and Physical support, as well as Lifestyle and Financial advice. Results have been spectacular with employees actively and regularly engaging with the new platform, which has had a measurable and positive impact on morale.”
