Penhurst Construction Secures £7million Contract with Swindon Borough Council

Hampshire-based contractor, Penshurst Construction, has been appointed by Swindon Borough Council to deliver the supply and installation of domestic kitchens as part of a new contract worth £7 million.

The contract will see Penshurst Construction manage the replacement of obsolete kitchens as part of the council’s asset refresh cycle. The work will involve the removal of existing kitchens and the supply and installation of new kitchens, including all preparation works, for approximately 200 properties per year across the Borough.

The initial contract, which began on 10th September 2026, will run for 36 months, with the potential to be extended by a further 24 months. After an initial mobilisation period of approximately three months, delivery of the works will begin in January 2027.

The appointment follows a competitive tender process and will see Penshurst Construction work closely with Swindon Borough Council to provide a resident focussed service that enhances the quality and condition of their housing portfolio”.

As part of the contract, Penshurst Construction will draw on its experience in social housing repairs and maintenance to ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently and to a consistently high standard.

The contract will also provide opportunities for Penshurst Construction to generate wider benefits for the local area through the facilitation of career workshops, work experience placements, and donations to local initiatives.

The contract award follows on from previous contract wins with Swindon Borough Council, including their 4-year framework for general maintenance and repairs, which was awarded in September 2025.
