Made in Britain Certification “at the core of procurement processes” for latest road sweeper innovations
New product from road sweeper manufacturer, Scarab Sweepers, is backed by the Environmental and Social Value Certification
Scarab Sweepers, a designer and manufacturer of road sweepers, has highlighted the commercial advantage that Made in Britain’s Environmental and Social Value (ESV) Certification brings to its procurement processes, and has recently unveiled its latest innovation in sweeping technology.
The SCARAB T7, which proudly carries the Made in Britain trademark, sets a new benchmark in heavy-duty sweeping and marks the next step in the company’s journey to deliver positive environmental change.
Backed by Made in Britain’s ESV Certification, which helps businesses to promote their positive impact and gain a new commercial edge, the new product is designed and manufactured at the company’s state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in the South East of England.
Callum Huthwaite, Marketing Manager at Scarab Sweepers, said:
“The ESV Certification is at the core of our procurement processes. As a manufacturer, there is an increasing demand to deliver trusted and credible solutions to customers, and that’s why the Certification is so important – because it reaffirms our position and commitment to delivering innovative road cleansing solutions.
“Our latest innovation, the SCARAB T7, is backed by both the ESV Certification and the Made in Britain mark, which reflects everything about our commitment to British manufacturing – right down to our continuous improvement processes between engineering, production and the field.
“Our local capability means faster feedback cycles, tighter quality control and a team that stands behind every machine with pride – and being a part of Made in Britain really helps us to showcase this.”
The SCARAB T7 embodies the company’s industry expertise, being the first vehicle to offer a fuel-efficient 105kw Deutz auxiliary engine, and benefiting from SCARAB’s short, efficient airflow path for maximum efficiency. This complements the company’s wider sustainability policies, including extensive waste protocols and an ethical procurement policy which ensures sustainability throughout the entire value chain.
Callum continued: “In the last couple of years, we have started looking into what more we can do to restrict our environmental impact and improve our efficiency. As part of this, the ESV Certification is a really important credential that we can showcase to our customers.”
The Certification, which is aligned with the UK Government’s Social Value Model (2025) and the Procurement Act 2023, allows organisations to practically demonstrate their environmental and social value credentials, helping them to stand out and sell more in a highly competitive market.
Developed in collaboration with MAP UK & International, the Certification is available to all 2,200 Made in Britain members and provides a practical, rapid and accessibly priced way for companies to promote their positive impact.
John Pearce, CEO of Made in Britain, said:
“The ESV Certification is designed to give organisations a commercial edge, which they can use to win new orders and contracts, so I’m thrilled to hear about the important role the Certification is playing in SCARAB’s procurement processes.
“Environmental and social value is so important and it’s not just about doing the right thing. It’s also about doing better business, winning work, building resilience and achieving long-term, ‘good’ growth – which SCARAB is making great strides in achieving.
“Seeing the company grow on its journey to do business that’s better all round, supported by Made in Britain and the ESV Certification, is fantastic.”
