Rea Sound AV Scores Double Victory at UK AV Awards 2025

Cookstown-based business Rea Sound AV has achieved a landmark double win at the UK AV Awards 2025, becoming the first company from Ireland to claim victories in two categories at the industry’s most prestigious event.

Winners were revealed during a glittering ceremony at Evolution London on 7th November2025, attended by more than 1,400 of the AV industry’s most influential figures.

Facing strong competition from leading integrators across Europe, the USA, and Asia, Rea Sound AV captured top honours for both Corporate Project of the Year and Public Sector Project of the Year, a testament to the company’s technical mastery, creative integration, and customer-focused innovation.

Rea Sound AV’s collaboration with McConnell’s Distillery in Belfast transformed a Grade A listed former prison into a world-class visitor attraction, blending historical storytelling with immersive brand engagement. The installation featured zoning, wireless control, hearing assistance systems, and high-impact visual displays collectively delivering a seamless, flexible, and future-proof solution.

By leveraging technologies from Allen & Heath, Martin Audio, Audio-Technica, Sennheiser, Samsung, alongside their own Ayla products, the Rea Sound team created an environment as robust and reliable as it is engaging.

“McConnell’s wanted an experience that was as immersive as it was operationally simple,” said Roger McMullan, Director at Rea Sound AV. “Our solution allows staff to focus on visitors rather than technology, while delivering an AV experience that strengthens the McConnell’s story and supports their growth in tourism from both local and overseas visitors.”

Judges highlighted the outstanding technical excellence and innovation within the uniquely challenging setting, crediting Rea Sound for its role in transforming the historic site into a world-class visitor experience.

Rea Sound AV’s second win, Public Sector Project of the Year, recognised its comprehensive meeting and discussion system for Mid Ulster District Council. Designed to simplify complex council operations such as voting, live streaming, and hybrid participation, the future-ready system delivered a fully paperless workflow that enhances collaboration, accessibility, and long-term value.

The project brought together Kramer control, Bosch Dicentis, Panasonic, Samsung, Allen & Heath, and Martin Audio into a unified ecosystem, all delivered within a demanding schedule and budget.

Paying tribute to the exceptional innovation, resourcefulness, professionalism, and deep understanding of the client’s needs, judges praised Rea Sound’s ability to deliver a seamlessly integrated meeting space that met the Council’s exacting requirements while enhancing functionality, user experience, and long-term value.

“This project completely transformed how council meetings are run,” McMullan explained. “We designed a solution that’s intuitive and efficient, allowing elected members to focus on decision-making rather than system management.”

This double win represents a significant milestone for Ireland’s AV sector, highlighting the region’s ability to deliver world-class design, integration, and client-focused innovation.

“To be the only company from Ireland recognised in two categories at this level is a huge honour,” McMullan added. “It proves that cutting-edge AV solutions are being designed and delivered here, setting new benchmarks for technical excellence and user experience.”
