Day Aggregates Expands Waste Management & Muck Away Services from Battersea Hub

Day Aggregates has launched enhanced waste management and muck away services from its newly developed Battersea facility, supporting construction and infrastructure projects across South and Central London.
The facility serves as a hub for the import of fully compliant, high-volume removal of non-hazardous soils and stones from construction sites across London. With integrated rail freight connections, the site enables the efficient bulk transport of materials to licensed disposal and recycling centres entirely by rail.
“Our Battersea operation brings faster turnaround, lower emissions, and scalable solutions for the construction sector,” said Adam Day, Director, Day Group. “This development is part of our ongoing commitment to supporting the wider construction industry in carbon emissions, improving resource efficiency, and building more sustainable supply chains.”
Day Aggregates’ rail freight transport service from Battersea plays a key role in reducing road impact across London. By shifting bulk waste removal locally from lorries to rail, each outbound train eliminates the need for over 75 HGV journeys, easing urban congestion, cutting emissions, and enabling cleaner, more efficient logistics for large-scale construction projects.
Operating from a fully licensed waste handling facility, the Battersea site is permitted by the Environment Agency to handle up to 200,000 tonnes of inert and non-hazardous construction waste each year. With full duty-of-care documentation and waste traceability built into the process, clients can rely on total compliance and accountability.
This new operation builds on Day Aggregates’ established site clearance services across the South, with muck away contracts already active from Bristol and Cardiff in the West to Maidstone in the East.
In addition to waste removal, we support construction supply chains with a reliable range of recycled aggregates, including Type 1, 6F5, crushed concrete, and washed sand, available for prompt delivery to the capital from our depots in Greenwich, Brentford, and Purley.
