Murphy wins CECA Southern Workplace Wellbeing Initiative Award with PSA Testing Programme

Ann Marie Coulthurst and Emma Stevens receive the award on behalf of Murphy from CECA Southern Chair, Alan Cox

Engineering firm Murphy has been named the winner of the Workplace Wellbeing Initiative Award, sponsored by Blanchard Wells, at the Civil Engineering Contractors Association (CECA) Southern Awards ceremony in London.

The accolade was presented in recognition of Murphy’s PSA testing programme, which is helping male colleagues gain awareness of prostate cancer symptoms and take a test that can lead to early diagnosis.

The programme has so far engaged with over 200 men across Murphy’s UK projects and offices, providing an opportunity for onsite blood tests, with results available in 24 hours. Guidance is offered to those whose results require follow-up investigation.

Alan Cox, CECA Southern Chair, commented: “This initiative is moving the dial in helping our industry tackle an unseen and little spoken about issue in an industry dominated by men. This positive action is to be celebrated and Murphy is to be congratulated for engaging the workforce on such an important matter.”
