With only hours left until this year’s Build Show sponsored by Easy-Trim kicks off, construction professionals still undecided about making the journey will want to take a look at the latest announcements about what’s on at the show at Birmingham’s NEC between 9-11 October, before they miss out on the industry’s biggest event of the year.

Imagine wearing a vest that makes you stronger, healthier and less fatigued. Sounds like something out of a superhero movie, but exoskeleton technology is here, affordable and ready for visitors to try out at the Build Show.

EksoWorks is bringing along the very latest exoskeleton technology that is helping to reduce injuries in the construction industry, where workers are five times more likely to report poor health. Visitors can experience working with weightless tools using the Ekso ZeroG or feel the benefits of the 5 – 15lb lift assist that the EksoVest provides through upper body elevation and support.

Bionic arms and weightless technology aren’t the only surreal reveals of the Build Show. Kinetech Design is revealing Royal Approval, a structure inspired by Japanese paper folding; Make:it_Brum is opening its student-design pavilion, inspired by Birmingham’s manufacturing heritage; and Passivhaus is launching its 2019 student competition.

The Build Show forms part of UK Construction Week (UKCW), the construction industry’s largest event. 35,000 visitors are expected through the doors of Birmingham’s NEC, taking advantage of more than 650 exhibitors, 10,000 products, 350 speakers, 300 hours of talks, 35 different CPD sessions and 9 industry-specific shows.

Also taking place is the Role Model of the Year announcement, the BRE Academy free CPD sessions, the first BMF Young Merchants conference, Vision Built’s full-size two-storey modular construction, the installation of a luxury hotel bathroom POD, single-use plastic crackdown with free top up water stations and live rockaoke at the Beer Festival, sponsored by Velux.

Visitors will leave with their questions answered, needs covered and knowledge updated.

For the last chance to attend, tickets are still available from www.buildshow.co.uk and allow access to all nine UKCW shows: Build Show; Energy 2018; Timber Expo; Surface and Materials Show; Building Tech Live; HVAC 2018; Civils Expo; Plant and Machinery Live and Grand Designs Live.

Show news and updates will be posted live throughout the event on the website www.buildshow.co.uk and Twitter @BuildShow or using the hashtag #BuildShow2018.
